WANACHI POST

Residents of Mpigi have launched a fundraising drive to reconstruct their beloved town hall, which was severely damaged in an electrical fire last month.

Local council leaders estimate the rebuild could cost upwards of 200 million Ugandan Shillings. “This hall is not just a building; it is where we gather for weddings, meetings, and celebrations. We will rebuild it together,” said LCIII Chairman, Robert Ssentamu.

So far, through local contributions and a charity football match, over 30 million shillings has been raised. The district has pledged to provide building materials.
