The Ministry of Works and Transport has launched an ambitious new infrastructure strategy, “Connect Uganda,” which aims to tarmac at least one major road connecting to every district headquarters within the next six years.

The project, funded by a mix of government funds and international development partners, is touted to boost trade, improve access to markets for farmers, and enhance regional connectivity. Skeptics question the feasibility of the timeline given budget constraints.
