Unknown Disease Outbreak Reported in Hoima District Village

Health officials from the Ministry of Health are urgently deploying a team to a remote village in Hoima District following reports of a mysterious illness.

Initial reports indicate over 30 people are exhibiting severe symptoms, including high fever and vomiting. Samples have been taken and are being rushed to the Uganda Virus Research Institute (UVRI) in Entebbe for analysis.

The village has been placed under a temporary quarantine as a precautionary measure. Authorities stress that the cause is unknown and urge against speculation.
